Cape Town: intermittent connectivity

10:02AM DC engineers are working on intermittent connectivity problems.

10:35 It appears to be a DDOS attack, which the DC is working to mitigate.

10:43 Message from the Datacentre:

“Steps are being taken to lessen the impact of the attack. We ask that customers please be patient as our engineers work to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.”

11:01 Connectivity has improved, engineers are continuing to work on mitigating the attack.

11:05 The problem has been resolved. Sincere apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.

Dantari: MySQL

8:10AM There is a problem again with MySQL on Dantari. cPanel technicians have logged into the server to fix the problem. No ETR yet. Sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

9:47AM MySQL has been fixed.

10:22 We’re running recovery on some corrupt databases – there will be intermittent MySQL outages while this happens

There’s a problem with mysql which we’re working on now.

14:00 We’re still working on the problem, which is taking longer than expected, for which I apologise.

14:38 We’re getting closer to a fix, but I’m sorry to say that I’m not sure how much longer this is going to take.
