10:02AM DC engineers are working on intermittent connectivity problems.

10:35 It appears to be a DDOS attack, which the DC is working to mitigate.

10:43 Message from the Datacentre:

“Steps are being taken to lessen the impact of the attack. We ask that customers please be patient as our engineers work to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.”

11:01 Connectivity has improved, engineers are continuing to work on mitigating the attack.

11:05 The problem has been resolved. Sincere apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.

Chiss: MySQL error

11:55AM We’re working on a MySQL error on Chiss. All sites making use of a database will display errors.

12PM We’re seeing intermittent network problems on the servers Electra and Dantari. DC engineers are investigating.

8:10AM There is a problem again with MySQL on Dantari. cPanel technicians have logged into the server to fix the problem. No ETR yet. Sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

9:47AM MySQL has been fixed.

10:22 We’re running recovery on some corrupt databases – there will be intermittent MySQL outages while this happens

14:00 We’re still working on the problem, which is taking longer than expected, for which I apologise.

14:38 We’re getting closer to a fix, but I’m sorry to say that I’m not sure how much longer this is going to take.

Maintenance 19 April 2013

All shared hosting servers in Cape Town will be undergoing a software update and routine maintenance on Friday night 19 April at 11PM.

Because the servers need to be rebooted once the maintenance has completed, there will be a very short period of downtime (around 5 minutes).

11:50 AM Customers making use of Afrihost and Telkom for their internet connections are currently experiencing intermittent connectivity, when trying to connect to websites or emails hosted with Texo. The Datacentre technicians are working on the problem.

All our Cape Town shared hosting servers will be undergoing maintenance on Friday 8 February 2013 at 10PM.

Once the maintenance has completed (at approximately 10:10PM) the servers will be rebooted. We expect downtime to be less than 5 minutes while the servers reboot.
