Servers offline

10:38PM MWEB’s Cape Town datacentre is again experiencing issues, and has caused the following two servers to go offline again:

Chauler
Lizzy

Unfortunately we’re still at the planning stages of our migration away from MWEB, and no sites have been moved off these servers yet.

Apologies for the inconvenience (again) – we’ll keep you updated.

00:05 There is still huge packet loss to MWEB’s Cape Town DC

00:42 Everything appears to be returning to normal, but we’ll continue to monitor the situation.

Servers offline

MWEB’s Cape Town datacentre is offline. This has affected the following servers, which are currently unreachable:

Chauler
Lizzy

The MWEB website and MWEB MobiSite are also affected and are also offline.

We apologise for the inconvenience, and hope to get the servers back online asap.

Update 14:10
MWEB technical support says “please give it another hour” which is unacceptable. Once they’ve sorted out their problem, we’re going to start planning a migration of all accounts off MWEB servers. If you’d like to have your account moved as soon as possible, please send an email to support@texo.co.za so that we can take care of it for you.

Servers are back online.

Network Problem

A networking issue is affecting two of our shared hosting servers, Hegeley and Ratchet.
We’re working on the problem, and will get it fixed shortly.

2:34PM
We’ve found the problem, and are working on a fix.

2:44PM
Hardware has been replaced. Shouldn’t be very much longer now.

2:48PM
Ratchet is back online, Hegeley should be up shortly.

2:50PM
Hegeley is back up. Performance will be a bit slow for the next 15-20 minutes as things settle down.

We are aware of a routing issue which is affecting some servers in London. The routing issue is causing websites to time out, and is being worked on. Seven servers are affected:

Cake
Prime
Wordsworth
Hegeley
Antbear
Africannights
Ratchet

Update 14:30 the Datacentre is still working on the routing issue

Update 14:55 Everything appears to be running normally again. If you do have any issues, please submit a support ticket.

A hardware fault has taken two servers offline. The affected servers are Hegeley and Ratchet.

Update 18:18
The problem has been found and we’re working to get if fixed.

Ratchet is back online.

Hegeley is back online.

Apologies for the inconvenience. Websites and cpanel/WHM access will be slower than usual for the next 10-20 minutes while the servers stabilize.

One of our London DataCentres is experiencing connectivity problems. It is being worked on right now. The following servers are affected:
Antbear
Bharat
Cake
Hegeley
Prime
Ratchet
Wordsworth

Update 20:10 One of our London Data Centres is experiencing a huge DDoS attack, affecting the network connection to these servers. We’re busy identifying the IPs involved so that we can null-route them.
